Why Massage?
The first word that may come to people’s mind when they think of massage is relaxation. However, massage therapy offers a variety of benefits like improving muscle recovery and performance, aids in injury prevention, decrease chronic pain, encourages proper tissue healing, and improves overall quality of life. Our body does a great job at harboring unwanted issues in our tissues from past injuries or falls, even as far back as childhood. If unaddressed, there is a risk for future pain, injury, and discomfort.
About Me
I wish my full name was Sarahtonin but my birth certificate just says Sarah. I am from a small town in northern Michigan but have been living in the metro Detroit area since 2014. When people ask me how I became interested in massage therapy the answer, as cliché as it may sound, is that I have been lucky enough to always know that this is what I wanted to do. When I was younger massaging my mom’s shoulders meant she would do my house chores for me. Now that I am older, practicing massage means I am able to help other people do their life chores with ease.
I have been a massage therapist since I graduated from Oakland Community College in 2017. Since then, I have taken multiple classes and practice various techniques such as trigger point therapy, myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, joint mobilization, and more. It is always my goal to listen to what the client needs and be as thorough as possible with each session,
Along with massage, I love digging into and reading self-help books to improve self-awareness and continue to grow as a person. Working on self-improvement and going to therapy, I believe, has only strengthened who I am as a therapist and helps me grow stronger professional relationships with my clients.
Of course, self-love does not always mean doing the serious stuff. Music is my happy place, specifically house music, so on the weekends you can find me wherever a good dj is playing. I also love food, any food, preferable dessert, anywhere. When I feel like I need to get away from my temptation of eating too many chocolate covered strawberries I enjoy traveling, hiking, exercising, and snowboarding. Life is full of hard things, might as well make the most of it.

“Sarah is literally a goddess. She WORKS on ya, and she's the only person I trust to do super deep tissue trigger point release stuff. She also makes me LAUGH, which is such a lovely aid in letting go of my tension.”
— Emily L.
“This is now my second massage, ever, with Sarah and I cant praise her enough. Shes done an incredible job of locating and treating areas of discomfort and pain that I did not even know I had all while still addressing areas of concerns that I was able to discuss with her. I will definitely be making this a regular routine to add into my physical fitness and Im very happy I was recommended to her”
— Travis S.
“Sarah is an absolute professional. After having spine surgery 3 months ago, I've been stiff and my muscles have not had much movement since I was sedentary during recovery. Sarah made sure that I was comfortable and that no pain was endured and the discomfort I had before was gone when the appointment was over. I will definitely be returning. Thank you again!”
